Swimmers will be coached in all four strokes with the aim of being selected to swim for one of the teams in due course.

Swimmers can compete from the age of 9 and if selected for a team, a swimmer will be expected to swim. The club holds an Annual Sprint Gala in November and a Distance Gala in March and all swimmers are encouraged to enter. All swimmers should complete an entry form, which must be returned by the due date. A list of galas is posted on the notice board early in the season to encourage parents to keep the dates free. A great deal of time is taken in selecting the best possible teambased on personal best times. Please give your support.

At all competitions swimmers should take two towels, a club T-shirt or tracksuit, club hat and a pair of pool shoes is advisable. A drink must be taken in a plastic bottle, as swimmers become dehydrated as in any other sport.

If successful, entry cards will be given to the swimmers.Either the coach or a representative from the club will be on hand at the competitions to offer any help or advice your child may need. It is advisable to be at the competition pool at least 20 minutes before warm up to allow time to get changed and post the entry cards.

If you have any queries please give them to a committee member so that they can be discussed at one of the regular committee meetings.
